FanVerse Terms of Use
FanVerse is made by Westlight Studios LLC. Last updated 18 August 2026.
FanVerse is for writing fan fiction with people you don't know. That only works if what turns up in the app is something a stranger can be handed. These are the rules, and there is no tolerance for breaking them.
What is not allowed
- Sexual content involving anyone under 18, or any character written or implied as a minor. This is the one rule with no context that excuses it. Accounts are closed on the first instance, not the third.
- Sexually explicit content of any kind. Every story on FanVerse is rated PG-13. Romance, attraction and tension are the point; sex acts and anatomy are not described.
- Hate speech. Slurs and dehumanising abuse aimed at a real group, including in a character's mouth. A villain can be written as a bigot without the text supplying the vocabulary.
- Harassment. Targeting a real person, in a story or a comment. Naming, following, or writing someone you know into something they didn't agree to.
- Real-world instructions for self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, weapons or drugs. Fiction about any of these is allowed and is often the reason people write; instructions are not fiction.
- Spam. Off-platform links, promotions, and stories published to advertise something else.
What happens
Stories and comments are checked before they publish, and again if they're reported. Anything reported by enough separate readers comes down automatically while it's looked at. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
Reporting a story also blocks its author, so you stop seeing them straight away rather than waiting on us. You can block anyone at any time from the ⋯ menu on their story or their profile.
Breaking these rules removes the story. Doing it repeatedly, or once in the first category, closes the account.
